Resource Center for Community Action?s programs support families and individuals achieve greater self-sufficiency, self-awareness and an educational learning experience. Sometimes people find themselves in crisis situations due to loss of employment, illness, spousal abandonment or an unexpected disaster and are in need of immediate emergency relief. We provide financial assistance for past-due utilities, rent & mortgages to prevent eviction, we help those who are need of food, emergency medical prescriptions, clothing, gasoline/bus fare, and shelter/motel nights for homeless and provide low-income housing referrals. We offer free budgeting class, also a requirement for those seeking financial assistance. We network with local churches, low-income housing managers and other human service agencies to help people through their short-term crisis.
