What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The Andre Terrell Booker Endowment
This is an endowment for students and athletes at Texas State University. The endowment will begin when a total of $30,000 has been awarded to Texas State. The endowment will be open to students majoring in the arts or history at Texas State. We have funded the endowment to the $25,000 level. The endowment will be fully funded by 2015 and we anticipate our first scholarships will be awarded from the endowment in the Fall of 2015.
Andre Booker Scholarship

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
In 2017 we will award an additional $1500 scholarship geared toward economically disadvantaged students. We are working towards developing our own endowment that will provided the funds for our scholarships.
We are shifting our focus to becoming more involved in our community by donating funds and food to area food banks. Our major goal is to find a building where we can help students need help academically and socially in our community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have a strategy that includes events and grants to fund our endowments and scholarship funds. Our strategies include the use use of social media sites and a redesign of our website to clearly state the goals of The Andre Booker Foundation. We have plans to incorporate our business contacts into partnerships. We currently have joined organizations that will help us gain better knowledge in obtaining grants and information in how to run and develop a non-profit organization.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have set up different committees within the board to confront the challenges we face. Our most pressing need is starting and developing a corporate partnership(s) with grantors and corporations. In the last 2 years we have started to attend seminars on these subjects. We also have board members attending webinars in their field of interest. We have started reviewing our annual budget every quarter that allows us to make adjustments as needed. We feel that by our recent membership in several organizations will allow us to reach the needs of our organization.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have funded a $30,000 endowment to Texas State University. We have awarded over $11,000 in scholarships to area high school students .The redesign of our website is crucial to the reaching of our goals. We have come to the realization that we need to cultivate more business relationships. We understand the need of cultivating more donors and that we can ask only so much from our current donors. The directors of our organization are working on strategies to connect with the public and philanthropic communities. We need to be more active in the community so that people in the area know who we are and what we do.
