Training Program

It addresses the specialized knowledge needs of Nonprofit Organizations. This program offers workshops in the areas of accounting, administration and compliance. Our workshops have a practical teaching approach so that they can be applied within the work environment

It consists of the direct intervention of an advisor to deal with the administrative and fiscal matters of Non-Profit Organizations, by referring to CPA or other professionals who have the expertise to offer the service. Similarly, through this program, reports on use and compliance are made to social investors.

It's created with the purpose of supporting Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) in improving their administrative processes. In it, the participation of university students of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Human Resources in the NPOs is encouraged, who can gain practical experience that will help them strengthen their professional development and technical knowledge. Thus arousing interest in NPOs in them, serving as volunteers and as a possible employment option.

Strengthen the Volunteer program, so it support our strategic initiatives.

Develop and update workshops of the Training program according to the needs of the NPOs.

Strengthen and maintain a minimum of fifteen projects per semester in Asesores Financieros Universitarios.

AFC has a strong liasion with the State Society of CPAs, Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, First Bank and other organizations which helps it promote their services to diverse professionals, and encourage them to participate as volunteers. These volunteers help AFC develop and facilitate workshops to NPO professionals and provide other services through the Technical Assistance Program. Asesores Financieros Comunitarios also has the backing of many Foundations in Puerto Rico who are committed to the cause and every year support AFC with grants or projects.

Asesores Financieros Comunitarios is arduously working towards reaching a greater number of nonprofits organizations in Puerto Rico through its programs. Currently, AFC is reaching approximately 15% of the target population, with goals to reach at least 35% in the next 5 years.
