What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Wish Granting
Make-A-Wish®Northeastern & Central California & Northern Nevada was founded in 1983 and has granted more than 7,350 wishes to children in our community. With the help of generous donors, community supporters, and dedicated volunteers, our chapter is on track to grant more than 400 wishes this year. While the organization follows the policies and guidelines of Make-A-Wish® America, it operates as a separate 501(c)(3) organization. All funds raised by our chapter are used to fulfill our mission in the 45 Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada counties we serve (see map for details).
In 2009, with the help of the communities it serves, Make-A-Wish opened The Wishing Place, a child-friendly and inviting place where children with critical illnesses are encouraged to dream big and wishes come true. While the Wishing Place, located in Sacramento, is the chapter headquarters, there are two regional offices located in Fresno, CA and Reno, NV.
