What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Emergency Food Programs
Emergency Food Programs include: on-going, supplemental groceries distribution through our Willits Food Bank Program; and emergency food
distribution for people in immediate crisis
Emergency Shelter
Emergency Shelter is a short term, motel voucher program targeted towards households with minor children who are homeless or in crisis. This program also serves women in domestic abuse, senior adults in crisis, people with acute medical crisis, and homeless households with verifiable, and imminent job or housing opportunities.
Special Programs
Special Programs are generally short term, grant funded programs targeting specific populations. Currently, these include two: SAMHSA AT HOME, and HPRP . The AT HOME Program (Access to Treatment and Housing Opportunities in the Mendocino Environment) provides case management for homeless individuals who have behavioral health
and substance abuse issues. The case manager for this program works with a team
of county wide providers and colleagues to help guide the participants to achieving
the goals of their treatment and personal care plans so that they may become
housed, have an income and be self sufficient. HPRP (Homeless Prevention and RE-Housing Program is an ARRA funded grant that is targeted towards households that have been severely impacted by the economic downturn. It is a housing stabilization program for households with less than 50% of the local median income. Assistance can be for prevention-maintaining the existing housing, or for households that are already homeless. This aid is for people who, but for this assistance, would be homeless. It is not a mortgage assistance program. It is not a temporary or permanent housing program. It is a short term housing stabilization program whose purpose is to encourage self-sufficiency as soon as possible. The ability to sustain housing after assistance ends can be a factor in this process.
