What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Life Legal protects vulnerable life, including unborn life, in the courtroom and the public square. We address the problem of discrimination and harassment based on pro-life views and speech by providing experienced legal advice and representation. We also intervene in cases involving the denial of life-sustaining care and we provide information on advance health care directives.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. To maintain and expand our network of attorney advocates.
2. To train interns in the protection of vulnerable human life.
3. To shape public policy to uphold the sanctity of human life.
4. To develop resources for the public, including training on key legal and legislative issues that affect the sanctity of life.
5. To develop training for attorney advocates.

1. Train attorneys in the protection of constitutionally-protected speech and activities.
2. Provide education on changes in the legal and legislative landscape that affect First Amendment rights in regard to pro-life speech and activities.
3. Provide representation and/or consultation in legal matters involving discrimination and harassment based on pro-life views.
4. Educate people on their rights when faced with the withholding or withdrawal of life-sustaining medical care and treatment.
5. Provide guidance on preventing the removal of life-sustaining care and treatment, especially in cases where patients are disabled.
6. Provide representation and/or consultation in legal matters involving the withholding or withdrawal of life-sustaining care.

We have a team of staff attorneys who remain up-to-date on state and federal laws regarding the protection of vulnerable life. We work with a large network of attorney advocates who can represent clients in need. We are a flexible organization without a lot of overhead expenses, which allows us to dedicate resources to our goals.

1. We have been expanding our attorney network and are working on updating existing attorney contacts.
2. We are assigning interns to staff attorneys to work on key projects and are working on developing a more formal intern program.
3. We are providing input on legislative initiatives that affect the vulnerable, including the unborn.
4. Our Advance Directive Project is underway and we will soon be able to provide tools to help people create advance health care directives.
5. We have a number of training videos on our website and are working on updating them and offering CLE units.
