Dare to Dream Grants
The Dare to Dream program was founded in 1999 by founder JoEllen McNeal. The purpose of the grant is to provide women living in Warren County, 18 years and older, opportunities to move forward with their lives whether it be to continue their education, start or expand their business, buy a computer or provide a specific service to the community, etc. The process involves putting out a call for grant applications throughout the community in the Fall for about a three month period.
Applications are then reviewed by committee members and a consensus regarding who the final applicants are to be interviewed. Applications are considered based upon the merit of the project; research and efforts made toward the dream and financial need. The committee then interviews the finalists and the awards are made. We present the grant recipients at our Dare to Dream breakfast in March. Grant amounts vary with maximum amount of $1,000 which goes directly to the school or vendor, etc.
