What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Build California
The Build California comprehensive program effort addresses perpetuated societal misconceptions about wage earning potential, safety and the variety of roles available in the construction industry to promote access and positive exposure to the construction industry for youth from underrepresented communities between the ages of 12-24. Build California is defined by its ability to authentically showcase the diverse career and training pathways the modern industry has to offer, effectively reach and inform audiences on multiple platforms with targeted messaging and present a perspective on the industry that is actually “cool” to young people and other underrepresented target audiences.
College Access and Success
AGC-CEF works to engage youth in pursuing higher education pathways, specifically in construction careers. In addition AGC CEF provides Scholarships for students pursing post-secondary education and/or training in construction and construction related programs. Our goal is to make pursuing careers in construction as easy as possible.
Construction Leadership Council
Training and education are infused throughout all AGC CEF program efforts to ensure they holistically address the systemic barriers for underrepresented populations to access and develop into leaders in the growing construction workforce. The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) was established to fulfill the need to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the construction industry as well as the association both at the local and national levels.
The purpose of the CLC is to act as a conduit for participants to network, exchange ideas about work and the industry, serve local communities and continuing education which includes both professional development and leadership skills.
Small Business Council
The Small Business Council offers small contractors access to training, education, and resources, as well as AGC’s network of general contractors and public agencies.
