Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Annual Concert Season
The Arts District Chorale, whose roots began in the Dallas Arts District more than 30 years ago, is a concert ensemble of gifted choral artists, recognized for innovative programming of classic and new works. Performing throughout the Metroplex, the Chorale celebrates a commitment to choral excellence and seeks to present inspiring musical events to a large and increasingly diverse community. The Arts District Chorale continues to create and nurture relationships with Arts District institutions and organizations.
The Arts District Chorale presents themed concerts at various venues in the Dallas Arts District and neighboring churches, performing four or more shows each season with a focus on both familiar and unique choral works.
Apprentice Program
The ADC Apprentice Program, initiated in 2014, offers vocal training and experiences to economically disadvantaged students selected from the ArtsVision summer program. The program aims to provide arts education and training to students who may not otherwise have access to such opportunities. Throughout the program, students receive coaching in aural skills, music principles, and vocal development. The ultimate goal is to foster a lifelong love for vocal music in each apprentice and prepare them for successful auditions at prestigious Arts schools or to enhance their abilities in their neighborhood school's music program. The program benefits the community by equipping deserving students for auditions at renowned arts magnet programs, enhancing the success of apprentices returning to their neighborhood schools, enriching the lives of the apprentices, and instilling the discipline required for a strong music program.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Arts District Chorale is committed to promoting choral excellence and expanding the appreciation of vocal ensemble music throughout North Texas. Our organization accomplishes this mission through dynamic performances, outreach efforts, and partnerships with other organizations in the community. As a diverse and inclusive community of talented singers from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we strive for artistic excellence and innovation by embracing a wide range of repertoire and musical styles.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Arts District Chorale celebrates choral excellence and seeks to heighten the awareness of vocal ensemble music in North Texas through the following:
• By attracting outstanding choral singers to the organization and by performing increasingly challenging music, the Arts District Chorale will continuously foster excellent choral music performances in the Dallas community.
• Providing increasingly accessible and approachable concerts tailored to the general public, the Arts District Chorale will expand our audience size and demographics, thereby increasing accessibility to the arts for all citizens of the Dallas area and meeting the needs of the broad range of cultural diversity in our community. Since the arts have been shown to contribute to increased involvement in the community and increases in academic potential, ADC will have an impact on the community beyond its concert environment.
• Working with local and other living composers to commission new choral works and by bringing new, recently composed works to the Dallas community, the Arts District Chorale will support composers locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, to expand the choral repertoire, and keep the choral art form alive and ever-changing.
• Through its sponsorship of the ArtsVision summer day camp, its Apprentice Program, and by providing complimentary tickets to college students and young professionals, the Arts District Chorale will reach an audience with a broader age range so that the younger generation has a greater appreciation of the arts and is encouraged to express itself through its own artistic efforts.
• By recruiting through local voice teachers and college and university music faculties, the Arts District Chorale will grow its membership so that it gains younger singers and through them attracts more young people to our concerts.
• Through increased online marketing, direct mail, promotion through partner organizations, and increased use of social media, the Arts District Chorale will significantly increase audience attendance at its concerts at the City Performance Hall so that more people visit the Dallas Arts District and come to appreciate the District and its City Performance Hall venue.
• Through expanded partnerships with more and varied arts organizations, the Arts District Chorale will introduce its audiences to other arts organizations so that the Dallas community expands its awareness of other arts organizations and comes to appreciate a greater variety of art forms.
• By marketing through the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, hotels, and businesses, the Arts District Chorale will expand its marketing to visitors and tourists to increase Dallas' reputation as a center for the arts and as a desirable place to live.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
