What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Surgery Assistance
P.E.T.S. strives to maintain various programs to offset or discount the cost of surgery. As these are always changing and specific to the program, please consult OUR PROGRAMS page at www.petswf.org for details
Chain-Off Wichita Falls
Chain-Off Wichita Falls repairs and builds fences for pet owners whose dogs live on chains. Chained dogs are most commonly abused, neglected, and live a very lonely life. This program helps a minimum of 36 families per year and the results are immediately gratifying when dogs are granted freedom from life on a chain.
Hounds Habitat Program
lean to's, or just old storage sheds. A dog will not be able to use his body heat to warm a shelter that is too large. Dogs will not go into shelters that are too small. The Hounds Habitat Program allows appropriately sized dog houses to dogs without shelter. Shelter means the difference between life and death in our extreme Texas temperatures.
P.E.T.S. Pantry
The PETS Pantry will open December 2010 to provide pet food to owners who are struggling to feed their companion animals. Our mission is to help pet owners keep and maintain their pets who are vital to their own happiness and wellbeing. Hunger is a nationwide epidemic. Fortunately, there are a number of wonderful organizations devoted to providing food to people. We are teaming up with these organizations to reach the animals behind the hungry people. We will be delivering food monthly to pet owners receiving Meals on Wheels and offer food for pick up during normal clinic hours. Animals must be spayed and neutered and pet owners must demonstrate appropriate need by showing proof of low income, government assistance, or temporary hardship.
Underdog Express
Underdog Express is a High Volume, Long Distance Transport program that pulls at risk dogs from area shelters and sends them to our partner organization in New York for adoption.
