Mission

The White River Area Agency on Aging, Inc. was founded in 1979 to advocate for, and develop a coordinated system of programs and services that improve and enhance the quality of life for older and at-risk adults and enables them to live independently with dignity in the least restrictive environment. The agency was founded by several older persons interested in establishing in-home, nutrition, and senior center services for older people in a 10-county area. The agency now serves more than 6,000 older persons annually, with over 2,000 being at or below poverty.

In Home Caregivers

White River Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) serves over 6,000 seniors annually in 10 northeast counties (Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, Van Buren, Whie, and Woodruff) in the State of Arkansas. In-Home Caregivers provided personal care to 1,381 in 2021 to older adults which includes assisting persons in their home with activities of daily living, homemaker services to assist with tasks such as meal preparation and light personal care clients that receive care in their home who are disabled and/or low-income older adults.
