Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The mission of the Dream Day Foundation is to support the lifesaving efforts of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through fundraising, advocacy, and special events in order to enhance the quality of life for patients and their families. Dream Day Foundation hopes to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital expand their Dream Home fundraising campaigns and continue to create events for patients that are fun, healthy, and family oriented.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Establish good management and leadership to stabilize organization and continue its mission. Working on volunteer management structuring Team Leads to handle various activities and functions of our major program Fishin' Galore. Recruited, trained, and supported a volunteer coordinator. With the purchase of an office a more structured work environment and expansion of organizational staff structure that can be more productive in all aspects of running our 501 (c) 3 to support our mission. We intend to continue to expand our workplace giving campaign and to add more events.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
A supportive Board of Governors and each one's involvement in our various fundraising activities.
Control of a tight budget and serious analysis of every expenditure.
Participation requests of a base of over 550 volunteers.
Developed new co-ventures that will help support our mission.
Expansion into other states where we can build awareness and raise additional revenues. Expansion of our social media presence and our ability to raise funds and awareness online.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since 2000 Dream Day Foundation has provided over $3.5 Million to ALSAC/St. Jude. Our goal is to invest dollars with a three to one ratio which we have met annually for at least 5 years now. In 2017, we welcomed a new management structure with Mrs. Brooke Conde as Administrative Director and Nicole Falkenheiner as Development Director. With this division of responsibility, we were able to raise more money in sponsorship for our Fishin' Galore event than anticipated as well as add a new fund raising event. Nicole and Brooke have also worked to expand the organization's social media presence in an effort to increase recognition of the organization, as well as appeal to new donors.
