Child Care Connections
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IS INVOLVED IN PROVIDING INFORMATION, RESOURCES AND REFERRAL SERVICES FOR PARENTS, BUSINESSES AND THE COMMUNITY, TRAINING FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ALL LICENSED CHILD CARE CENTERS AND REGISTERED FAMILY CHILD DAY CARE HOMES IN THE NORTHEAST REGION.
Family Resource Center
PARENTING EDUCATION DEVELOPS PARENT TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE CHILDHOOD LITERACY, QUALITY CHILDCARE, SUCCESS IN SCHOOL, AND STRENGTHENING OF THE FAMILY.
Youth Development
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IS DESIGNED TO TEACH TEENS LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND THEN TO INVOLVE TEENS IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS ABOUT ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE. ALSO TO WORK WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND OTHERS TO FORM AN ADULT COALITION TO PLAN INITIATIVES TO ADDRESS ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE AMONG YOUTH.
Early Head Start
Early Head Start provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers, children with disabilities, and their families, and pregnant women and their families. The principles of Early Head Start are designed to nurture healthy attachments between parent and child (and child and caregiver), emphasize a strengths-based, relationship-centered approach to services, and encompass the full range of a family’s needs from pregnancy through a child’s third birthday.
The Early Head Start program is administered by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Head Start (OHS).
