What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Scholarships

Each year the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Museum offer cash scholarships and tuition grants to Oklahoma high school students through the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition and Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship. More than $160,000 in scholarships are awarded to students from across the state of Oklahoma annually.

Population(s) Served

With over 180 publications, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame is the leader in publishing Oklahoma's history. Many of the titles are distributed free to school and public libraries across the state to enhance their Oklahoma history sections.

Population(s) Served

The Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, offers Free Field Trips for more than 5,500 students each year. The spaces are available to any school in Oklahoma. In addition to free admission, teachers may choose between receiving free lunch for each of the students OR a fuel stipend in the amount of $5 per student.

Population(s) Served

On 40+ days throughout the year, families can join us for a story, an interactive craft and other themed activities at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum for free. The programs includes the reading of a children’s book which is either written by or about an Oklahoman, in keeping with our mission to promote pride in our state. The craft and other activities correspond with the story that is read. Each project is designed to help children think critically about each story and enhance their learning and understanding. These projects are also designed for parents or guardians and children to create together, providing a truly interactive family experience. As with everything that we do, this program was created to tell Oklahoma’s story through its people to the youngest audience that we serve.
