What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Emergency Infant Services serves children five and under whose families are in financial crisis. Unexpected circumstances can force a large setback to a wide range of a community and it is our mission to help immediately and effectively. Without the resources to accommodate child needs, make sure families receive formula, diapers, food, wipes, clothing, car seats, and toys.

Food and Formula Program

Our targeted audience for our Formula and Food Program is children through five years of age in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area whose families are experiencing a financial hardship. We provide support in the form of infant formula, milk and food, which are, in our opinion, the most critical services we provide.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The goal is to prevent families from falling farther into a poverty cycle. We are able to help them with short term needs while they work on figuring out what they need in the long term. We want the community, at large, to be highly involved with the programs that we offer to people who are living under circumstance outside of their control. With the support of the greater community we can continue to provide the services we offer to a large portion of the people who are struggling to make ends meet in their day to day lives.

When a family comes to EIS for a visit, they meet with an interviewer who takes the time to understand the circumstances impacting the family. In addition to receiving our services, we provide them with information on other resources in the community to help.

We also have five community partners that are on site throughout the week. These include SoonerCare, Muskogee (Creek) Nation WIC, Tulsa Health Department, Community Action Project, and Healthy Start.

With over 40 years of activity in the Tulsa area as well as others, we have rooted ourselves into communities in which we serve. With events hosted by various company sponsors as well as individuals who have supported this agency for many years have come together to help us raise the funds we need to continue providing the services we do. We are more than capable of doing what we have been doing for the last 40 plus years of service to our community.

The mission of Emergency Infant Services (EIS) is “to meet the basic human needs of infants and children, through five years of age, whose families are in crisis.” EIS fulfilled that mission last fiscal year to nearly 15,000 children through the following programs:
Formula – provided 214,551 8oz. bottles of formula to 3,133 infants.
Diapers – 542,125 diapers and pull-ups were given to 11,141 children.
Food – 312,246 pounds of food were provided to 9,462 families.
Cribs and Car Seats – 1,074 children received a crib, car seat, high chair, or pack-n-play.
Clothing – 10,982 children received clothing.
Milk – 6,227 families received a gallon of milk.
Additionally, EIS never stopped serving the community during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We shifted from in person services, to curbside where we continued to provide diapers, wipe, food, and formula.
