Mission

OETA Foundation exists exclusively for the benefit of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority and in support of OETA's mission to provide educational and public television programming as Oklahoma's only PBS station and the only television network serving our entire state. OETA is dedicated to ensuring that families throughout the state have free access to world-class arts, entertainment, education and information, including the 20% of viewers who depend on a free broadcast signal rather than cable or satellite packages. OETA Foundation also supports locally produced educational, informational and cultural programming, including the new series, Mosaic Oklahoma, that explores the people and places of Oklahoma; the digital STEM educational series, Well, That's Fun!; Oklahoma News Report, which provides in-depth reporting on important issues facing the state; and the arts and culture program Gallery America.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

PBS and Public Television Programming

OETA Foundation's support of OETA helps the station provide essential educational content and services that
inform, inspire and connect Oklahomans to ideas and information that enrich our
quality of life. We do this by giving Oklahomans opportunities to consistently engage with educational television programming and take advantage of educational training and
curriculum, outreach initiatives and online features that collectively
encourage lifelong learning.

Population(s) Served

OETA Foundation funding supports community-based educational services provided through OETA that offer learning opportunities for Oklahomans of all ages.

PBS KIDS provides children with a head start on learning skills. Programs focus on the developing mind, providing shows kids love to watch with parent and teacher approved educational objectives.
PBS LearningMedia provides educators and students with more than 100,000 standards-aligned resources that offer high-quality, trusted digital content and solutions that inspire and transform learning.

Population(s) Served

OETA Foundation serves every community across the state through its support of OETA whose network of towers and
broadcast facilities provides border to border coverage and reaches all 77 counties. Nine out of 10 Oklahomans view OETA as their primary source for Oklahoma history and the home for unrivaled access to arts and culture. OETA also has been recognized by Oklahomans as one of the state’s most trusted resources for news and information. This trust demands that OETA Foundation fund the best in local productions to truly represent our state and our people.

Population(s) Served

Well, That's Fun! is a wide-ranging digital series that teaches STEM principles in fun, fast-moving three-minute lessons. Our goal is to support STEM learning and encourage interest in STEM careers during the 4th-8th grade years when state science and math scores drop precipitously. Our first, eight-lesson series, "Air & Space," is slated for 325 classrooms in 2018-19 along with experiment kits that will add valuable hands-on learning. Future series will focus on "Agriculture," "Biomedicine" and "Robotics" with the intention of continuing to expand the number of participating schools.
