What we aim to solve
Abortion and women's healthcare Abortion is a controversial issue that has political ties that make the topic difficult to address. The reality is that no woman wants to have an abortion. Abortion is a personal issue and women who choose it do so not because it's their 'right' or 'choice' but because their circumstances are such that the feel abortion is their only choice. We have found that most women want to be empowered with education, support and resources so they will have the facts about abortion, about their options and about the resources available to them. We not only want to meet women at the point of a crisis pregnancy, but also help prevent crisis pregnancies with fertility education and birth control to help stop repeat pregnancies and repeat abortions. Many of the women we see at Eden have no insurance and little funds for healthcare. Our sliding fees ensures no one is turned away. We provide STI testing and treatment for both men and women.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are both proactive and reactive when it comes to abortion. We want to empower women in crisis pregnancies with all she needs to make an informed decision about her pregnancy. We want her to consider all her options and make that decision based on facts. We hope she will make a decision for life, but whatever she decides, abortion or parenting or adoption; we will be here for her.
More than 90 percent of the women that come to the Eden Clinic are not using any form of birth control when facing an unplanned pregnancy. We want to stop repeat pregnancies and repeat abortions by providing fertility education and prescription birth control. We want to be the healthcare provider for women who have little or no insurance and to build lasting relationships with them so that if they do become pregnant they will return to the Eden Clinic for consultation rather than to an abortion clinic where they will be convinced that abortion is their best option.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have worked with a consulting company to help us create awareness among our donors about the added services we will provide to our patients. We are a nonprofit, pro-woman pro-life organization yet we have stepped outside the box with innovative ideas to better serve women, to help stop abortions and to provide needed healthcare for those who have none. In the past we have only been able to market to women in crisis, waiting for the crisis pregnancy to happen. We know that women do not choose abortion lightly, but find themselves stuck. Our strategy is to build relationships with women over time, to be their healthcare provider, teach them about fertility and birth control. Birth control has an eleven percent failure rate, so if they do become pregnant they will return to us for help with that decision rather than be pressured into an abortion at an abortion clinic.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have been working for two years to become capable of offering these services. As mentioned previously, we have changed processes for medical offerings, converted to an EMR system, credentialed with insurance companies, hired skilled and professional staff, changed our website to present ourselves as a women’s healthcare clinic and are now planning a move in Norman to a medical building.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since 2010 we have grown in awareness in our community for support, we have grown in patient numbers and we have grown in our budget. We opened a second location in Midwest City in 2012 and had to move three times in order to accommodate our growth.
Our main goal is to save babies from abortion and women from a lifetime of regret. When it comes to abortion, everyone says it’s a woman’s right and it is! People have made it a political issue, when it’s a private issue. The fact is that no woman wants to have an abortion – she chooses it because she’s stuck in a situation that makes her feel like she has no other choice. In 2018 -2019 we had 122 women strongly considering abortion make a decision for life. How? Why? We empowered them! We supported them! We provided resources, community support and education for them! Not one of these 122 women was sorry for their decision. We cannot say that for the ones who aborted, but we are here for them just the same.
What’s next? With the addition of medical services and birth control we can better serve women, help stop abortion and continue to educate new parents with free non-medical services.
