What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Texas NF Family Camp
Camp is a safe haven for those with NF where their disfigurement or physical challenges are understood and accepted. It provides an opportunity to build self-esteem and establish social connections with others who live with the condition. It is a time to learn and laugh and make meaningful relationships with new friends and build closer bonds within families.
Texas NF Annual Symposium
The Symposium is a full day program designed to address many of the endless concerns of
neurofibromatosis.
Clinic Liaison Program
Texas NF currently collaborates with the NF Clinics at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Cook Children’s Medical Center, UT Southwestern Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital by providing a Clinic Liaison to provide additional support to the clinics and answer additional patient questions and concerns. There is no charge to the facility and NF patients. The program includes the distribution of informational packets and brochures. The Clinic Liaison Program coordinates and funds support groups, social gatherings and a mentoring program.
NF Young Adult Leadership Program
The NF Young Adult Leadership Program is an opportunity for NF-affected young adults to learn effective advocacy skills and speak directly to policymakers about NF. The 5-day program is the first of its kind, allowing young adults to make a difference in the NF community.
