Mission

The Mission of the Seton Fund is to be the fund development and endowment arm of the Daughters of Charity healthcare ministry of Central Texas. The Seton Fund works with our philanthropic community to support Seton’s Central Austin adult facilities, including Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, Seton Medical Center Austin, Seton Shoal Creek Hospital, Seton McCarthy Community Health Center, as well as the Seton Cove and the Nurse Scholarship Endowment.

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin

Austin’s largest medical/surgical acute care center, Seton Medical Center Austin is the only hospital in Central Texas that performs heart transplants.

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for both inpatients and outpatients and regional specialty programs including the Seton Heart Specialty Care and Transplant Center, Seton Infusion Center and the Marialice Shivers Regional Neonatal Center.

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin was also one of the first two hospitals in Texas to receive certification as a Primary Stroke Center.

Ascension Seton Medical Center is ranked the #1 hospital in Austin and is the region’s largest medical facility.

Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas (Dell Seton) anchors an exciting new downtown health district, adjacent to the Dell Medical School and research facilities.

This Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital represents a vibrant partnership between a nonprofit healthcare system, a tier one research university, and a local county health district – all joining forces to reimagine the way healthcare is delivered.

Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas is the only adult Level 1 Trauma Center serving an 11-county Central Texas area. It is also the safety net hospital for Travis County, serving community members who often have the greatest needs and least resources.

For more than 40 years, Ascension Seton has been caring for adults and seniors who may be experiencing emotional or substance abuse difficulties. Inpatient services at Shoal Creek Hospital include intensive psychiatric stabilization for patients dealing with emotional crises, depression, and drug/alcohol dependence.

Our licensed staff is on call 24 hours a day to address the mental health needs of patients and their families. The hospital also facilitates a wide range of support groups that meet on a regular basis.
