Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Innovative Grant Program

The Innovative Grant Program awards funds to support those projects that make learning come to life for students and also increase their academic success. District employees submit their idea for an innovative educational project for students and the Foundation awards grants to the most-worthy projects each year. The Foundation uses donations and special event net revenues to fund this program. In 2017, $218,101 was awarded for 50 projects across 39 campuses.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

The North East Educational Foundation works with donors wishing to designate funds for things like grants for a specific campus or project such as a playground campaign, community garden or subject areas like STEM, music or art. The most important thing to understand about designated funding is that it goes entirely to the campus or program the donor is supporting. These funds allow the donor to give to a particular cause within the district and 100% of the donor's contribution (minus credit card fees in some situations) goes directly to the program or campus they wish to support within NEISD.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We adopted a three year strategic plan that serves as a roadmap. Key elements include specific 6 month, one year and three year goals for each of the following topics: Data, Metrics & Measurement; Community Engagement; Educational Advocacy; Grants; and Financial framework.

We set specific goals for each topic so that there is an attainable goal and a clear measuring stick for whether we meet that goal.

We designated which committee should take the lead on every item, so there is accountability and clear leadership.

A portion of each full board meeting is devoted to our strategic plan so we receive updates in the progress. Ultimately, the Executive Committee is responsible for ensuring that each goal is reached.
