Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The ATA Spay/Neuter Clinic sterilizes approx. 6500 dogs and cats a year. Over 75,000 since opening in 1997. The ATA Wellness Clinic provides vaccination,diagnostic testing for paracites, flea and heartworm prevention. These services are provided at an affordable cost or free to approx. 20,000 pets a year. Over 91,000 dogs and cats have been seen in this clinic since opening in 2002. ATA also provides affordable heartworm treatment, dentals, and special surgical procedures ranging from simple surgieries to complicated orthopedic procedures- all at an affordable cost to low income clients and free to homeless and indigent clients.
Surgery and Special Services Clinic
Our surgical clinic provides high quality spay/neuter services to approximately 6,000 dogs and cats each year. Since March 1997, Animal Trustees of Austin low cost Surgical Clinic has spayed and neutered over 90,000 dogs and cats. ATA provides heartworm treatment, special surgeries and dental procedures to 1,250 animals per year.
Wellness Clinic
Beginning in June 2002, Animal Trustees' Wellness Clinic has provided vaccinations, heartworm testing and prevention, de-worming and parasite control for over 160,000 dogs and cats. Both Animal Trustees clinics are staffed by experienced veterinarians, qualified veterinary technicians, staff, and volunteers.
The Emergency Care Fund
The Animal Trustees Emergency Care Fund was established in response to the large number of animals in crisis seeking emergency care. Guardians who were desperate for help and unable to afford the high cost of emergency treatment, often brought their injured pets to Animal Trustees. We responded to their needs by giving them the means to seek veterinary care. These animals would likely not survive without immediate intervention, but thanks to the donors who support the Emergency Care Fund, they receive the care they need.
