What we aim to solve
The solutions that we have developed are focused on accomplishing the following.\n\n-increasing the leadership skills of community members\n- increasing parental involvement in the schools.\n- Increasing the number of homeowners \n- involving churches and businesses to help communities.
Our programs

Housing
Build homes for low and moderate income families, developing a mixed income neighborhood. Additionally, selectively remodeling homes for homeowners.
Housing Counseling
Providing free counseling and education to families to help them become homeowners.
Community Organizing
Our community organizing program works to increase the involvement of the families, schools, and churches in the community.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We have the following goals for our organization.\r\n\r\nHousing – increase the number of homeowners in the inner city of Waco.\r\n• Sell 10 Homes in near north Waco.\r\n• Sell 50 homes in other areas\r\no Build on your lot option\r\n• Sell Rental properties\r\n• Buy 20 older homes, rehab, sell with wrapped owner financing \r\n\r\nHousing Counseling – educate families to become successful homeowners\r\n• Counsel 1200 families \r\n• Educate 500 families in home buyer/financial literacy classes\r\n• Graduate 100 families from IDA program\r\n• Add a housing counselors fluent in Spanish\r\n\r\nCommunity Organizing - increase the involvement of the families, schools and churches in the community.\r\n• Increase family and community engagement in the schools\r\no 20 active families in each of the schools\r\no 5 teachers from each school working with active families for change\r\n• Increase the number of equipped leaders in Waco.\r\no 50 grassroots Leadership Training Programs (10 participants each year)\r\no 5 community-led projects in neighborhood\r\n• Increase church involvement in neighborhoods\r\no Support 10 self-identified projects by churches and church members
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our 3 strategies for accomplishing our goals are our 3 programs.\r\n1. Housing - increasing the number of homeowners in the inner city of Waco\r\n2. Housing Counseling - educating families to become successful homeowners\r\n3. Community Organizing - increasing the involvement of the families, schools and churches in the community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have the staff and resources necessary to accomplish our goals. We have 12 years of experience with the first two programs and 5 years of experience with the third program.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In our housing program we have sold 3 homes. Our goal would be to sale 3 more by year end.\r\nIn our housing counseling program we have counseled 135 families. Our goal would be to help 55 more families by year end.\r\nIn our Community organizing program we have just started a school calendar year so we don't have new numbers to report. But last year we were able to help 4 families to become more involved in the school, 10 people graduated from the Grassroots Leadership Class and there were 4 community inspired and led projects.
