What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Club Services

BGCGFW impacts the lives of more than 11,000 youth every year, through a robust Club experience combined with targeted outreach programs in the schools and community. After school programs in the Clubs provide a fun safe place for children ages 6-18 to focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles and citizenship. Upward Bound, Comin' Up and Educational Talent Search keep teens on the right track toward graduation, college enrollment, career guidance and more.

Population(s) Served

The Academic Success Initiative is a comprehensive homework help, tutoring, and literacy program that provides youth with the support, resources, and guidance necessary to succeed academically. After-school and summer programs present perhaps the greatest opportunity to close the education gap and help all kids succeed.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth works to ensure youth have the tools, support and motivation to graduate high school and pursue a college degree, ultimately becoming positive and productive citizens. With graduation as the goal, the Club works progressively with youth from age 6 to 18 (and beyond) to build up the whole individual, from educating youth about healthy lifestyles, to imparting the importance of community involvement and service, to encouraging them to dream well beyond their perceived limitations. It is the Club's belief that by supporting youth in all aspects of growth, that focus can then be placed on achieving academic success.

The Club utilizes named-member data to monitor how youth are achieving in the areas of academics, health and citizenship. Data, combined with anecdotal evidence, provides a clear picture for how the Club is serving the needs of youth. As a result, Club staff are able to adapt to the changing needs of youth as they occur, implementing new program strategies and supporting youth in ways that are most meaningful. These efforts, combined with dedicated, proven programs and commitment from the community, result in a strategic plan that serves youth now and in the future.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth invested in technology and training for staff at the branch level to compile and monitor data used to analyze program effectiveness. This investment allows for fluidity in programming that provides targeted benefits to youth. The impact is long-term, and the organization is committed to the methodology at all levels.

In addition, the Club has a diversified revenue stream with strong fiscal management (receiving the highest rating from an independent auditor) and has been awarded competitive federal, state and government grants requiring strict reporting and accountability. With the support from individuals, corporations and foundations as well as strong ties to community partners, the Club has the capability and sustainability to maintain focus on the needs of Fort Worth's disadvantaged youth.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth successfully opened a new branch at Morningside Middle School in 2014. In 2015, we opened another branch at Uplift Mighty. We have made great strides since the inception of these two Clubs, as they have experienced tremendous success in a short amount of time. Additionally, through a partnership with Music & Youth, the first Music Clubhouse outside of Boston was opened in our North Fort Worth Branch in September of 2015. Through these advancements, we have been able to broaden the scope of our impact by providing youth with a safe place to grow academically, socially, and personally.
