Population(s) Served

Volunteers of America Texas begins working with individuals while they are still in prison, helping them prepare to re-enter the community by building life skills and overcoming problems with addiction. We help them find employment and build a network of resources and support so they have the best chance possible for being successful and making contributions to their families and communities.

Population(s) Served

At Volunteers of America Texas, we believe in human potential. By piquing interests and cultivating strengths in individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, we help them find the confidence to participate in their communities and to live as independently as possible.

Our programs include:

- Home and Community Based Services that make it possible for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live in a home setting through customized programs to improve self-help, socialization and adaptive skills. Available in the Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston areas.

- Affordable Housing that provides a home environment where, supported by professional, on-site staff, residents have access to the services they need to live with dignity and thrive. Available in the Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

- Life Enrichment Centers where our staff develops and leads engaging activities for adults with a broad spectrum of functioning abilities. Available in Houston and Plano.

Population(s) Served

By providing a continuum of support services that address the whole person, we help individuals beat the odds to gain sure footing and avoid falling back into old patterns. Through their personal successes, these individuals create stronger families and communities from which we all benefit.

Our support services include:
