Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to give every child and adult in North Texas the chance to experience nature in an urban setting, learning why and how they should sustain the natural world.

Repeated exposure to nature not only improves mental and physical health, but it creates citizens who will stand up for the environment their entire life.

We seek to educate guests through multiple avenues, from engaging visitors to offering programs and classes to printed materials.

We hold children's education classes, informal programming for guests (no reservations required), adult classes, and summer camps.

We show guests eye-to-eye encounters with native snakes and arthropods from around the world.

We educate through signage across our grounds, as well as through social media, radio programming and on our website.

We hold bi-annual pollinator plant sales to get native and adapted water wise plants in homes, apartment gardens, schools and businesses around North Texas.

In the past ten years, we've undergone extensive renovations across our grounds and opened a tropical butterfly house, arthropod exhibits, and a snake exhibit. Our numbers have increased steadily.

We plan on adding two additional educational tours to our grounds, as well as a water wise garden installation.

We also plan to increase guests and members.
