The Elder Financial Safety Center at The Senior Source is a safe and trusted place for older adults and their loved ones to get expert, professional and unbiased guidance to ensure financial well-being – from basic needs to financial exploitation.

We are proud to be the #1 expert on aging in America and THE standard for how best to serve seniors.
We have created a powerful sense of belonging and connection within, and beyond, our walls.

Each year clients come to The Senior Source stressed, isolated, lonely, and in need of financial assistance. We seek to improve their emotional and financial well-being through our key services, including:

1. Elder Financial Safety Center (EFSC) – Provides professional and unbiased guidance on frauds and scams prevention, helps in job search skills, assists in utility and benefit enrollment, and addresses essential needs to ensure financial well-being.  
2. Caregiver Support - Caregiver support specialists provide supportive counseling, resource assistance, and problem resolution to those caring for an aging loved one.  
3. Guardianship - Dedicated professional staff ensure the quality of life and manage all aspects of care for the most vulnerable older adults who are determined incapacitated by the probate courts.  
4. Long-Term Care Ombudsman - Certified volunteers and staff work to improve the quality of life in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  
5.  AmeriCorps Senior Volunteer Programs – Older adult volunteers enhance the lives of special needs children, older frail adults, and others as they volunteer throughout the city of Dallas through various partner organizations. They serve as Senior Companions, Foster Grandparents, or members of RSVP.


Caring staff who have local knowledge and experience and are seen as aging experts within a one-stop shop for aging related issues

The Senior Source has trained and credentialed staff who are knowledgeable about a wide range of aging services. We operate in partnership with other organizations through our community and maintain a strong referral network. The organization offers wrap-around services and has a well-designed curriculum. Staff are educated on numerous issues. Our website is rich in resources for both older adults and their caregivers. We have a strong reputation in the community and leverage experts to benefit our community.

Clients come to The Senior Source stressed, isolated, lonely and in need of financial assistance. Through our key services, we seek to improve their emotional and financial well-being with the following goals. The Senior Source conducts surveys and tracks the following measurements:

Stress Reduction 
Target: 80% of caregivers served will indicate a reduction in stress 
Health, Safety, and Welfare needs met 
Target: 70% of Nursing home and assisted living resident complaints resolved 
Decreased social isolation/loneliness 
Target: 100% clients felt less lonely and isolated since becoming a volunteer.  
Increased Sense of Purpose 
Target: 100% of clients have an increased sense of purpose since becoming a volunteer.  
Have a Positive Financial Impact 
Target: 50% of Elder Financial Safety Center clients will show a positive financial impact.
