By the year 2030, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County aims to have served 14,500 kids in Collin County.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Power Hour
Power Hour provides comprehensive homework help and tutoring after school. Every club member at each branch receives 45 minutes of homework help a day. By utilizing resources, activities, and information, Club professionals create a Power Hour program designed to raise the academic proficiency of all Club members and help them become independent learners.
SMART Moves
This nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, as well as premature sexual activity. Based on proven techniques, the program uses a team approach involving Club staff, peer leaders, parents and community representatives. More than simply emphasizing a “Say No” message, the program teaches young people ages 6-15 how to say no by involving them in discussion and role-playing, practicing resistance and refusal skills, developing assertiveness, strengthening decision-making skills and analyzing media and peer influence. The ultimate goal: to promote abstinence from substance abuse and adolescent sexual involvement through the practice or responsible behavior.
SMART Girls
As an outgrowth of the popular and effective SMART Moves program, SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8 to 17. The program encourages healthy attitudes and lifestyles enabling girls to develop to their fullest potential. From interactive role playing to more tailored mentoring, girls are given the opportunity to explore personal and societal values as they build skills for eating right, staying fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships.
Passport To Manhood
For male Club members ages 11-14, Passport to Manhood promotes responsibility and reinforces positive behavior. It consists of 14 small-group sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood. Each participant is issued his own “Passport” to emphasize the idea that he is on a journey to maturation and personal growth.
Healthy Habits
Healthy Habits is a well-rounded, comprehensive program designed to promote healthy lifestyles for the family as a whole through preventative screenings, good nutrition, exercise and education. A component of the nationally recognized SMART Moves program, Healthy Habits educates through other club programs such as Kids Cafe, Healthy Smiles, and Sports and Fitness.
Triple Play
Triple Play is a game plan for the mind, body and soul, sponsored by Coca-Cola Company and Kraft Foods, Inc. It is a dynamic wellness program that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. The daily challenges of this program are rounded out by sports club activities (mind), firstly, developing healthy habits, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle (body) secondly, and thirdly, social recreation (soul).

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The kids are offered an affordable yet safe and nurturing environment and are supported with a variety of programs and activities that assist in their educational, emotional, physical and social development. Children between the ages of 5 and 18 are mentored without regard to social, racial, ethnic or religious background. Learning is disguised as fun and the young people of Collin County are given a valuable opportunity to become independent, productive and influential individuals in the community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Currently, the clubs serve more than 8,900 children and teenagers, giving them a safe place to learn and grow into productive and caring citizens. The clubs are the best and sometimes the only option for Collin County children seeking a place to go during the vulnerable hours between school and home.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
100% of actively engaged members advance to the next grade level on time
100% of actively engaged seniors graduate and are accepted into college

Club members perform thousands of community service hours each year
We have programs that reach, support, and empower families to participate fully in their children's lives.
Our health and life skills programs foster healthier lifestyles
