Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

New Horizons provides a home and therapeutic services to children who suffer from emotional trauma, many times due to physical and sexual abuse. We help children at our two residential treatment center homes, we provide foster and adoption homes for children, and we offer free counseling services to children and their families. We provide services to over 1,200 children each year. Our mission is to keep kids first.

We help children explore the abandonment, neglect, and abuse behind the behavior that brought them into care. We offer ways to work through the issues, so their behaviors do not disrupt or destroy their lives. Our focus is to individualize the approach for each child while helping them form a positive identity in their environment.

We use a 24-hour integrated treatment team approach that incorporates therapeutic services to meet each childs individual treatment needs. We have a professional team of licensed therapists, program directors, and child development specialists on staff trained and educated in understanding childhood trauma.

We are a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Certified Agency, and we incorporate the model into every aspect of treatment for the child. TBRI, developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.
