Mission

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a faith-based volunteer organization that offers direct aid to those in need across nine counties in North Texas. The Society provides short-term financial, material and emotional support. People are empowered to reach the goal of self-sufficiency through advocacy, education and referrals. Inspired by Gospel values, members grow spiritually through person-to-person service to all in need. Through systemic change, the Society promotes dignity, alleviates suffering and distress, and addresses the conditions that cause the person to need assistance.

Vincentian Services

Through home visitations, the volunteers establish a relationship to provide temporary financial assistance such as rent, utilities, medical expenses, and food for people in need.

CHARITABLE PHARMACY
Provided over 80,000 free prescriptions to low-income, uninsured Texans for chronic illnesses, valued at over $23.5M

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
$3.85M in emergency rent and utility aid distributed in FY 2022. 850 volunteers serving in 39 conferences through the nine counties of North Texas.

STUDYTIME
1 full-time director and 6 part-time facilitators to lead the delivery of education at the three locations with support from over 20 volunteers (college, high school and retirees).

MINI LOAN PROGRAM
1 full-time program manager and 1 part-time program coordinator, 6 district-level and 10 advocate volunteers supporting conference level origination of loans to convert predatory loans while maintaining a financial coaching relationship during the 12-month repayment period.

Over 100K prescriptions dispensed in FY2023, free of charge to uninsured patients, with over 240K scripts dispensed to over 6000 patients since inception in 2018, a value of over $62M.

10,000 person-to-person visits on an annual basis, serving over 71,000 people delivering $28.7 million in total assistance, goods and services.

125 students enrolled in StudyTime after school program in three locations: SVDP Thrift Store Dallas, Santa Clara and Bishop Lynch High School

Over 450 low interest loans (over 18 months) have been made available to convert predatory loans at an average of $1,600. Total loan amount to date exceeds $825,000.
