Exercise Program
The Move. Laugh. Connect. exercise program is ideal for people with Parkinson's disease as it addresses the physical, cognitive and social aspects that are common issues.
Speech and swallowing classes
Participants work to improve volume, articulation of speech, and effective swallowing.
Care partner support groups
A professional facilitator leads group sessions where family members share experiences and provide support for each other as they navigate the challenges of Parkinson's disease.
Dance for Movement Disorders
Dance class co-sponsored with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas for people with movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease.
Monthly educational/inspirational meetings
Our monthly meetings present speakers on a wide range of topics in Dallas, McKinney, and Duncanville. Check the website and newsletter for details.
Non-Contact Boxing for People with Parkinson's Disease
Non-contact boxing works on balance and core strength as well as cognition.
DAPS has partnered with Title Boxing of Allen and Tribe Wellness Gym in Dallas to offer this exercise option to DAPS members at a reduced rate.
Tai Chi
Tai chi improves balance and strength. These classes are offered at a reduced rate through Tribe Wellness Gym in Richardson.
Move.Laugh.Connect.
Weekly group class balances the physical, emotional, and social dimensions of the individual, recognized as critical to a person’s total well-being.
