Program 1

Recruiting - Ongoing recruitment of volunteer attorneys is an integral part of the Community Service Fund. Presentations are made at law firms, corporations, by telephone, internet and mail. Follow-up activities are conducted to maximize numbers and to ensure retention of recruited volunteers. Over 11,312 attorneys have been recruited to serve low-income individuals. Approximately 1,629 attorneys are currently active, and 662 volunteers have been recruited in the year 2022.

Training - Intensive training sessions are held during the year to prepare attorneys for their pro bono services and representations. Materials are provided and experts lecture on relevant legal topics such as family law, bankruptcy, guardianship, and ethics. Trainings for 1,860 volunteer attorneys were held in 2022.

Intake Services - Weekly intake sessions are conducted at five community locations to determine program eligibility and to access legal needs. Over 4,862 individuals have received intake services in 2022.
