CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates

CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, recruits, screens, trains and supervises volunteers to advocate for children involved in the child welfare system.

Population(s) Served

Children’s Advocacy Center provides a neutral, child-friendly program that facilitates a multi-disciplinary team approach in the detection, investigation and treatment of child abuse.

Rainbow Rooms are two emergency resource rooms operated in conjunction with CPS. They are stocked with community donations of new clothing, diapers, shoes, hygiene items and other supplies for the abused and neglected children served by CPS, CASA and/or CAC.

Child Abuse Prevention programs are presented to children at area schools and day cares and to adults at the center and in the community in order to prevent children from being abused and knowing how to respond if abuse does happen.

The School Supply Drive and Christmas Drive each utilize local community donations to provide items to children in need.  The School Supply Drive provides free school supplies to all needy children in Fannin County.  The Christmas Drive provides presents of toys, clothes and other items to the children and youth served by CASA and the Children's Advocacy Center.
