What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

More than 3.2 billion people worldwide are unreached with the gospel. East-West aims to reach unreached people groups by mobilizing the Body of Christ to evangelize the lost and equip local believers to multiply disciples and healthy churches among unreached peoples and/or in restricted access communities.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Mobilizing

East-West is passionate about mobilizing the Body of Christ at home with the specific objective to spark movements of multiplication in the world’s spiritually darkest places.
Whether it’s through prayer, short-term, or long-term opportunities, the effort of every Christ follower aids in building God’s Kingdom.

In 5 years, we aim to mobilize the church by sending 200 long-term missionaries, engaging 500 church partnerships, sending 1,000 annual short-term mission trip participants, and engaging 5,000 daily prayer partners.

Population(s) Served
Indigenous peoples

We are passionate about spreading the gospel in the darkest of nations and utilize creative and strategic projects—including distributing literature, showing films, training local leaders in evangelism and church planting, and sending short-term and long-term missionaries into the harvest field—to evangelize the lost.

Population(s) Served
Indigenous peoples

East-West trains new believers to share the gospel effectively and start new house churches in their communities by following the instructions found in 2 Timothy 2:2.

"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” -2 Timothy 2:2

Through a variety of training methods, we are equipping leaders to evangelize their communities, train new leaders, and plant churches that multiply.

Population(s) Served
Indigenous peoples

The end result of mobilizing the Church, evangelizing the lost, and training local believers is the multiplication of new church plants led by nationals. These new churches are often established in homes and planted with expectation that the members will seek to start more churches based on the reproducible model they have experienced.

Population(s) Served
Indigenous peoples

In 2013, East-West began pursuing a God-sized vision to make 1 million disciples among the unreached and in restricted access communities.

A disciple is defined as one who has professed faith in Jesus Christ and has become involved with a local community of believers.

In order to complete this vision, we recognized the need to utilize four ministry strategies: mobilizing the Body of Christ, evangelizing the lost, equipping local leaders, and multiplying disciples and churches.

These strategies create the foundation and means for bringing the vision to fruition through the power of the Holy Spirit. And we have seen Him work in extraordinary ways to bring about His vision and extend God’s glory into these dark lands.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

From 2021-2025, East-West will pursue a five-year vision of reaching unreached people groups through various strategies. The goals for 2021 are as follows:
• Share the gospel with 20 million people
• Multiply 325,000 disciples
• Train 15,000 new leaders
• Plant 15,000 new churches
• Send 550 new workers
• Engage 10 new unreached people groups
• Launch four new global gateway city strategies

Mobilize the Body of Christ:
East-West is passionate about mobilizing the Body of Christ at home with the specific objective to spark movements of multiplication in the world's spiritually darkest places. Whether it's through prayer, short-term, or long-term opportunities, the effort of every Christ follower aids in building God's Kingdom.

Evangelize the Lost:
We are passionate about spreading the gospel in the darkest of nations and utilize creative and strategic projects—including distributing literature, showing films, training local leaders in evangelism and church planting, and sending short-term and long-term missionaries into the harvest field—to evangelize the lost.

Equip Local Believers:
East-West trains new believers to share the gospel effectively and start new house churches in their communities by following the instructions found in 2 Timothy 2:2. Through a variety of training methods, we are equipping leaders to evangelize their communities, train new leaders, and plant churches that multiply.

Multiply Healthy Churches:
The end result of mobilizing the Church, evangelizing the lost, and training local believers is the multiplication of new church plants led by nationals. These new churches are often established in homes and planted with expectation that the members will seek to start more churches based on the reproducible model they have experienced.

We have a vast network of missionaries and national partners stationed in the regions we serve who are responsible for carrying out ministry while our home office staff supports their work through administration, operation, and fundraising responsibilities.

During our previous ministry campaign called "unReached," God used East-West to make 1,077,657 disciples in unreached and restricted access communities from January 1, 2018-December 31, 2020. Below are detailed statistics from "unReached."

Mobilize the Body of Christ:
12,485 new daily prayer partners
2,092 annual short-term trip participants
758 new church partners
67 new long-term missionaries

Evangelize the Lost:
79,062,344 people reached with the gospel
7,063,001 professions of faith

Equip Local Believers:
641,175 trained leaders

Multiply Churches:
111,639 new churches
