Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Program 1
Historic Village Preservation: repair and maintenance of 7 structures with landscaping. Six of the structures are owned by the City of Allen and one structure - St Mary - is owned by the Guild. This fial year two more of the historic village structures were completely restored and a new roof was put on the third structure (farm house). Allen Heritage Guildpaid for the new roof of the farm house and for installation of heating and air conditionins and lghting in the other two structures.
Program 2
a ribbon Cutting and open house event was held at the historic village with approximately 140 public attendeer. An X-Max open-house public event (approximately 100 attended) was also staged at the village as well as a tour of the village for an elementary school. Docent training was initiated for better organized future tours of the historic village.
Program 3
Guild sponsored public events at the Train Depot Museum (City of Allen owned facility) and at St. Mary church property (Allen Heritage Guild owned property). The public events included Flag Day program (approximately 45 attended), Civil War weekend (approximatey 50 attended), and Railroad History/Sam Bass Day with approximateiy 150 in an attendance. These events are usuallly held annually and involve an average of about 500 in attendanceI
