What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
All Star Equestrian Foundation, Inc.
All Star serves the community by offering therapeutic horseback riding to the mentally, physically and emotionally challenged from age 2-70.
Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Our program participants have many types of disabilities – Cerebral Palsy, Multiple sclerosis, Autism, ADD, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, as well as various developmental delays and emotionally based stress syndromes. Equine facilitated therapies address these disabilities by helping improve balance, increase upper torso strength, even out walking gait using the three-dimensional movement of the horse, strengthen muscle tone, improve fine and gross motor skills, increase self-confidence, improve social skills, gives many a forum to compete, and allows some riders to move around freely for the first time in their lives. The therapy not only benefits and enhances the lives of our participants but also improves the lives of their families and caregivers.
HIPPOTHERAPY
Hippotherapy is a form of physical, occupational or speech therapy. The movement of the horse affects a rider's posture, balance, coordination, strength and sensorimotor systems .
