Develop Church-Planting Teams
With the help of advisory panels for each continent, MRN prioritizes the top 20 locations for new church plantings in each of the following continents: Africa, Asia, Europe and the South Pacific. MRN then recruits, assesses and prepares long-term church-planting mission teams for these key sites. Each mission team will be supported and overseen by one or more local churches.
2. Equip Sending Churches
Active local churches are vital to evangelistic outreach, yet few are fully equipped for the task. MRN offers the following services to local churches:
Seminars, consulting and other resources for missions committees and church leaders
Writing missions curricula for Bible class teachers
Training Bible class teachers to teach missions in their local churches
Distributing printed and electronic literature to create missions interest and awareness
Providing a Missions Helpline.
3. Nurture Missionaries and Their Families
MRN helps churches build a safety net of compassionate and timely assistance for their missionaries. Through a nationwide Task Force for Missionary Care, comprised of healthcare providers, MRN
Promotes physical, emotional and spiritual wellness
Recommends screening procedures for missionary selection
Provides materials and mentors to those in church-planting efforts
Assists churches and missionaries through each stage of the missionary life-cycle (i.e., recruitment, preparation, service and retirement)
Provides workshops, printed and electronic resources, counseling services, a missionary debriefing center and reentry workshops.
4. Advance Strategic Planning
MRN facilitates cooperation that results in better stewardship of resources and sharing of information. We accomplish this in three ways:
Forming a Global Strategy Group comprised of missions specialists and church leaders who engage in discussion and action on key facets of church establishment
Facilitating interaction between entities working in a particular field or on a common project
Communicating research findings via Internet, publications and conferences.
MRN sees itself as a facilitator or catalyst in world outreach rather than as an entity in charge of it. Our unwritten motto is "We will do nothing alone that we can do together."
