What we aim to solve
It has been estimated that only 5% of pastors globally receive the formalized training necessary to succeed in ministry. (Lausanne Movement, 2015) This leads to a serious lack of the skills, support, and relationships needed to grow and sustain a ministry today.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Carroll Institute is reinventing global graduate theological education in innovative, creative ways to make accredited ministerial education training relevant, practical, effective, accessible and affordable for Christian leaders. Its program offerings are biblically-based and transformational. They are designed to train men and women for excellence in leadership and ministry to the Church and society--in whatever place God has called graduates of its programs to serve--without disrupting their current place of service or requiring relocation and resulting loss of focus, due to the necessity for transplanted learners to undergo time-consuming cultural assimilation.
The Institute’s primary and on-going goals include creating a network of prayer partners, increasing the number of people and financial resources to carry out our mission, and delivering accredited theological education in innovative methodologies that will equip our missional leaders.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Continue to meet accreditation standards of the Association of Theological Schools and The Association of Biblical Higher Education.
Continue to grow enrollment.
Enhance our online presence through website redesign and intentional marketing.
Retain and expand The Carroll Teaching Network, a network of churches and institutions who can access delivered Carroll courses.
Continue to recruit board members from diverse and varied backgrounds to help guide our organization.
Closure of significant planned and estate gifts from donors to secure financial stability.
Increase financial sustainability from cash reserves and foundation grants.
Ensure firm leadership pipeline and succession plan for Founders, Sr. Fellows.
Expand the Gerald E. Marsh Center for Chaplaincy Studies through networking, publishing and training.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Distance Learning via the Carroll Learning Center and Carroll Live; Moodle software giving access in 70 languages and dialects; Teaching Church-based instruction; 1:1 PhD mentor-teachers (active ministers); Carroll's digital, InterLibrary Loan resources; every student receives a 50% scholarship off the full cost of delivery; certificate programs for lay leadership; 4 Academic Teaching Clusters.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Achieved Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) accreditation and 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation in February 2017.
Achieved The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) initial accreditation in June 2017.
Certification of the Master of Arts (Counseling) by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to provide a foundation for LPC.
Renewal of National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) agreement.
Achieved membership in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) in August 2018.
Membership in the InTrust Center for Theological Schools, whose mission is to strengthen theological schools by connecting their leaders to essential resources for mission vitality.
