Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are a nonprofit organization that funds learning programs that inspire discovery, promote creativity and problem-solving, build confidence, and encourage each child to reach for the stars and envision a future beyond the classroom.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Through its partnership with the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE), EFHC has funded programs impacting thousands of students throughout 25 independent school districts and cultivated a network of talented educators.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC) was incorporated in 1993 in partnership with Harris County Department of Education and received its 501(c)(3) designation in 1994. Through the generosity of the Harris County Department of Education, EFHC awards grants to area school districts to help address urgent needs. We hope to procure more grants from other business partners going forward to join us as partners in education.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Our programs are impactful, and some of our major programs include the Head Start Program, the After School Programs, Robotics, Case Debate Programs, Adult Ed program and our Special Schools which serve students with special needs and behavioral needs. We hoping to put more programs on the ground as well as provide grants, scholarships, and classroom supplies for the 25 districts across the county in the next couple of years.
