Primary Care

The Eastwood Health Center, located at 412 Telephone Road, provides well-exams, sick visits, immunizations, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer screenings, and chronic disease management. Adult and children's dental services and after-hours pediatric services are also provided at the Eastwood Health Center location. El Centro also provides an Adult Diabetes Self-Management Program, which offers a structured setting with ongoing diabetes education classes and support groups to teach the skills needed in the day-to-day management of diabetes. The program offers continuous medical care, appropriate diagnostic testing and follow up, and constant education to provide information and motivation for patients to lead healthier lifestyles.

John S. Dunn Health Center, located at 7635 Canal Street, provides
comprehensive pediatric services that include primary care, dental, and
behavioral health services. Through the expansion of its John S. Dunn
Health Center, El Centro will have the capacity to serve 2,000 more patients
each year given the addition of family medicine and adult dental services.Pediatric services consist of the following: well-child exams, school/sports physical exams, sick visits, immunizations, newborn screenings, hearing and vision screenings, and chronic disease management. El Centro addresses childhood obesity through its Children’s Wellness Program (Nutrición con Corazón), which provides quality medical care, individualized treatment plans, nutritional and educational support, exercise and fitness activities, and behavioral health services.

The Magnolia Health Center, located at 7037 Capitol Street, provides: women's health services, pediatric primary care, and behavioral health services. The women's health services include: prenatal care, postpartum care, well-woman exams, pelvic ultrasounds, 20-week anatomy scans, colposcopies, cryotherapy, LEEP procedures, endometrial biopsies, testing for STI’s, pregnancy testing, family planning including insertion and removal of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception devices such as IUDs and implants, screenings for premenstrual syndrome and menopause, referrals for mammograms and genetic counseling, male newborn circumcisions, infertility evaluation, treatment of routine gynecological issues and disorders, and treatment of incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders.

El Centro's Eastwood Health Center offers adult and children's dental services including: dental exams/X-rays, routine dental cleanings (Prophylaxis), fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, anterior root canals, periodontal cleanings (scaling and root planing), simple extractions, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), nitrous oxide sedation, stainless steel crowns (primary teeth), and patient education. El Centro's John S. Dunn Health Center offers pediatric dental services including: preventative dental care, exams/X-rays, cleanings, fillings, sealants, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), extractions, stainless steel crowns, patient education, and emergencies are seen the same day.

Centro offers Behavioral Health Services at the John S. Dunn Health Center and
Magnolia Health Center. Behavioral Health Services include: psychiatric
evaluations, medication management, individual and family therapy, trauma
focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, sand tray therapy, EMDR (Eye
Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), EMDR DeTUR Protocol for treatment of
addictions, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and positive parenting support
groups. All BHS providers are bilingual and able to provide
psychotherapy services in Spanish. El Centro is expanding its behavioral health services into area schools, which will address the need for more on-campus counseling services and will increase access to providers and medical home for students, their family members, and area residents.
