Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Mission
To provide safe and affordable housing to low-income families, while offering
individuals and seniors the educational tools they need to better provide for
themselves as well as the ability to pass these tools on to future generations.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. Develop a 3, 5-year strategic plan by September 2021. The plan will
include a vision statement, consideration of an organization name
change, and rebranding.
2. Establish an ad hoc Strategic Planning Committee by January 31, 2021,
and strategic planning facilitator.
Focus Area II: Foundation for Sustainability
Objectives:
1. Build a quality donor base by developing an engaged and active board,
establishing a social community that provides engaging content.
2. Build relationships with five local foundations and banks and submit twenty grant
applications.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Focus Area III: Growing Community Engagement & Development
1. Partner with nonprofits to bring exciting, innovative, creative programming
into Education Based Housing.
2. Create Education Based Housing Community Advisory Committees to identify
programming opportunities and partners.
3. Establish the foundation of an affordable single-family housing initiative that
will lead to hiring a Development Coordinator and purchasing land.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have received $9,000 in support from the Texas Methodist Foundation for our programmatic services
at 11 muli-family and senior communities in 2021. We will continue to use our earned revenue and will
actively seek more grants after the Montgomery Community Foundation grant cycle for this initiative.
