What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Pakistan is a poor country with meager resources. Health Facilities are rudimentary and expensive. Kidney disease shortens the life of many young adults. Dialysis is expensive and has to be continued indefinitely until a live kidney donor is available. \n\nSIUT Charitable Trust Karachi is working under such circumstances. since 2005. SIUT has brought a revolution in the treatment and management of Kidney Diseases; ALL TREATMENTS ARE ABSOLUTELY FREE \n\nEvery day 970 dialysis and 1577 outpatients are seen. SIUT is performing two kidney transplant daily and has performed 5680 transplants by now. \n\nSIUT NA has decided to help them. SIUT North America provide funds to improve the diagnosis, treatment and supervise prognosis of transplant patients. Many types of equipment and medicines were provided in past. In 2018 alone, an electron microscope was provided along with other equipment assistance. There is a dire need of medicine and supplies, which the local body doesn't have sufficient funds

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Pakistan is a developing poor country has only tentative and rudimentary infrastructure. SIUT Charitable Trust, Karachi working in such a situation finds it difficult to match its work and results with other international similar organizations. Although technically the operative procedures are as good as could be anywhere, the follow-up is lacking in not being able to monitor the recipient of the transplant as nicely as they would wish to. Many modern pieces of equipment are needed. Like the Electron Microscope that was provided in 2018, SIUT can make do with many such tools to ensure that their precious and hard work is translated into better prognosis and longevity to assist patients. \n\nOur aim is to provide as many types of medical and research equipment to SIUT Karachi as it may be possible. We aim to assist SIUT, Karachi in getting the best results of their kidney transplant patients.

We neither do the kidney transplant operation not do we follow patients and their prognosis at SIUT NA. Such matters are done by SIUT, Karachi. So, our strategies are simple. SIUT, Karachi has emerged as one of the very efficient Urology transplant centers in the world. They are only limited by two factors: a)They have undertaken to treat all patients absolutely FREE and b) Pakistan being poor and developing, its infrastructure is tentative. We may not be able to change the whole of the infrastructure of the country, but we are aiming to assist SIUT, Karachi well enough to enhance their ability to look after their patients before and after the kidney transplants. We believe that even if we can help SIUT, Karachi to the extent that they can be certain that they are not missing any issues that can be easily treated within their own resources. For such a situation, they need as many modern pieces of equipment and training on it. \n\nWe believe, our funding assistance can address this situation very well to allow SIUT Karachi to get a better handle on the prognosis of their transplant patients on one hand and let the patients also enjoy a longer and more productive life with a new kidney.

SIUT NA was founded in 2002. We have learned many lessons in all these years. One most definitive lesson that we have learned is that people are very ready to help the causes of health, wherein young adult's health is affected due to kidney problems. compromising their longevity of life. This in turn drastically negatively impacts the standard of life and living of the whole family, because in most cases the earning head of the family's life is shortened or lost, or his/her earning ability is significantly reduced. Over the past decade and a half, we at SIUT NA have been able to consistently raise a sizeable amount of funds to assist the providers who are looking after Kidney transplant patients. They tell us that their ability to diagnose, treat and supervise prognosis of such patients is markedly increased. As new equipment is invented to further assist such patients the ability of provider is also increasing to help their patients. However, this is only possible if they can find such equipment, which is always expensive. Hence they look towards organization like ours to help them.As mentioned above, we have found ways and means to consistently raise our ability to collect fund for such providers to eventually help the patients.

The kidney transplant was not done at all at SIUT facility, which is now regularly done at a pace of two transplants every day.Cadaver transplants, which was never done is now being done. The cancer treatment center is now complete and in full operation.
