What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Support Countywide Summer Reading Programs
The Friends of Kern County Library, Inc. provides monies to all 24 branches of the Kern County Library system for summer reading. This includes incentive books for children, teens and adults finishing the summer reading challenge, eBooks and eAudiobooks, STEM program supplies and performances for each branch.
Support Kern County Library System
Friends of Kern County Library, Inc. and it’s affiliates hold annual and ongoing book sales, request grants, and have membership dues in order to donate monies to all branches of the Kern County Library system. Our yearlong programming support includes performing arts, movie licenses, program supplies and circulating materials which covers newspaper, magazine subscriptions, audio visual materials, books and e-books.
"Friendless" Branch
The Friends of Kern County Library, Inc. provides funding to those branches which do not have an affiliated “Friends” group. The funds enable those branches to purchase supplies for STEM activity and summer reading programs.
