What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The SIS's operating programs involve various initiatives and activities using golf and sport to promote learning and transformative practice. We have a scholarship fund to introduce the benefits of golf to at-risk youth and to make our programs more widely available; we publish and distribute a member newsletter ("Connections") and maintain a website to encourage the sharing of concepts and ideas related to our mission; we sponsor seminars, forums and symposia on relevant topics and issues; through our member database we encourage grassroots networking activities; and we retain relationships with and support for other non-profit organizations whose mission and purposes are in alignment with ours. We publish and distribute "The Journal of the Shivas Irons Society," an award winning art and literary journal to foster high-quality and thought provoking writing on golf, golf's history, and the contribution of golf to personal development.
