VALLEY FEVER AMERICAS FOUNDATION
Fight The Fever
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Valley Fever is an Orphan Disease that has no cure or vaccine. Our focus is on supporting the development of a cure and/or vaccine for this disease and promoting awareness of the symptoms of this disease. Awareness efforts at the Federal and State level for this disease have traditionally been limited to development of print materials and minimal online resources. There is an immediate need for expanded distribution channels for accurate information about Valley Fever.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our Goal is to financially and legislatively support research and development of a cure and vaccine. Additionally, we are striving to create effective awareness campaigns to provide accurate information about Valley Fever and encourage early diagnosis through public education of the symptoms
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our Foundation provides resources and speakers at health events and conducts an annual awareness walk to spread awareness directly to the communities impacted by Valley Fever. We are developing a program to educate school children and school nurses about Valley Fever. By working with our Federal, State and Local leaders we are able to share our knowledge and experience to encourage funding and legislation to address current shortcomings in funding, tracking and diagnosing Valley Fever.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our Foundation has partnered with Public Health Agencies, Medical Providers and Legislators to build a coalition to advance awareness and research efforts to achieve our goals of awareness and a cure and vaccine for Valley Fever.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have supported a previous vaccine trial for Valley Fever that proved unsuccessful but led to the new generation of vaccine development currently in progress. We have built partnerships with elected officials, community leaders, medical providers, survivors and supporters to give a voice to those impacted by Valley Fever. We have seen legislative efforts at the state and federal level and budget requests at the state level. We have supported forward progress on a potential cure for Valley Fever and seen Federal grants to support research and better diagnostic and treatment options.
We will continue to raise money and support the development of a cure and a vaccine. We are increasing our efforts to work with elected officials to support State and Federal awareness efforts. We are developing materials and programs to bring awareness to the most at risk and hardest to reach groups within the endemic areas.
