Programs and results
What we aim to solve
There is an environmental educational disparity between students in California's San Joaquin Valley versus the coastal population centers. Because of generous donors like you, Aquarius Aquarium Institute has been working to address this by providing high quality, standards-based educational programs in our Valley schools from Pre-K through high school.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Teaching Tidepools
Our program uses standards-based curriculum and features a mobile "tide pool" that travels to San Joaquin Valley classrooms so that students may experience living marine life.
Ocean Connection - Where the River Flows
Classroom interactive program focusing on the water cycle and how our rivers are connected to the ocean. Program includes living California tide pool animals for the students see and touch.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
With your gift, Aquarius Aquarium institute is making a positive impact today in the lives of the students we touch. We are aiming to build our capacity to reach to more and more schools as we work to build the nonprofit educational Fresno Aquarium on our 10-acre property at the northern entrance to Fresno County, adjacent to Highway 99 overlooking the San Joaquin River.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategy is simple. We are leveraging the generosity of people just like you to build our organization DEBT-FREE organically. As donations build, we build. We are committed to giving our donors the absolute best bang for their buck. We are not a governmental entity and this gives us to ability to expand without excessive red tape and exorbitant costs.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Aquarius Aquarium Institute was founded by professional aquarists Tom and Aletha Lang of Fresno. They bring expertise to the programs and the Fresno Aquarium project with over 40 years of experience in animal care and habitat knowledge.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Because of donors like you, Aquarius Aquarium Institute has been able to expand our educational outreach programs over the years to include Ocean Camps for after school programs, a Middle School "Fish Club." We also continue to make progress on the Fresno Aquarium project by building necessary infrastructure on our property as generous donations come in. Of course, the speed of such progress is totally dependent on how fast donations come in and that's why we hope you will consider a donation to our organization today.
