The mission of the Firehouse Hostel & Museum is four-fold:

To restore and architecturally beautiful and historic fire station for vibrant use as a cultural treasure.

To provide an educational center for travelers of all ages.

To help all, especially the young, gain a better understanding of the world, and its people through hostelling. (Mission statement of Hostelling International-AYH)

To provide a quality firefighters' museum and fire safety program.
