Support Children Surgeries
We partner with other non-profits that performs free surgeries for poor children internationally. We provide both funds to support these surgeries as well as support the doctors with clowning during the screening and post care for children in the hospital.
Support the Homeless and Community
Our clowns donate their time at schools, retirement centers, hospitals community events and private parties bringing laughter and joy to children and their families. By clowning and donations we provide funds to other partners that support the homeless and low income families with food, clothing and services.

Through clowning events and donations we support disadvantaged children in orphanages, scholarships and schools globally.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. One of our goals is to maintain as low an overhead cost to manage Caring Clowns International as possible, so we can focus the vast majority of the donations we receive toward funding programs we identify which improve people's lives -- primarily children. For that reason, we are an all-volunteer organization with no facilities or employees on which we need to spend funds.\r\n\r\n2. Another of our goals is to identify and vet other nonprofits whose missions focus on significantly helping children in need, so our Board has the necessary information to determine which nonprofits we will award grants. Our Board Grant Committee reviews these grant applications for funding and recommends to our full Board which organizations we should fund.\r\n\r\n3. Another goal is to ensure funds we provide to other nonprofits are appropriately used. For this reason, we have a formal grant application process which requires potential recipients to commit in writing to use funds as they describe and to be accountable to provide periodic reports of the funds usage.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. We enlist clowns as members and provide training and guidance to them, and we clown at events to support our communities and other organizations.\r\n2. We partner with other organizations and clown at events for donations for funding and sponsorship; we maintain a very active and informative website presence (on which one can donate, and we are part of Amazon Smile for donations); and constantly do PR in the communities in which we operate.\r\n3. We solicit and accept grant applications from other nonprofits with missions to help children in need, vet them and, through our Board Grant Committee, decide to which we provide fund grants. (Our application requires formal signature by a key executive in the nonprofits, agreeing to provide reports of how the fund would be used, and on granting of funds, we monitor their follow-up reporting.)
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a very active board of directors, webmaster, marketing/pr director, clown members and sponsors who participate in our clowning and fund raising activities. We also employ comprehensive practices to responsibly review and monitor our spending, fund raising and grant processes
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Have accomplished: We have successfully provided a total of $302,900 in donated funds to over 40 nonprofits in our 18 year history and we have clowned across the U.S. and 35 developing countries.\n\nHave not accomplished: Increased our PR/marketing activities enough to attract more clowns and to make more substantial progress toward our long term goal of giving away $5 million. We are continuing to manage the organization and task our Board and other volunteer members to attract more clowns and to identify broader means and avenues to raise more funds to donate.
