CONIFER HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MUSEUM
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
To share the region’s legacy by collecting, preserving and exhibiting historical and cultural materials.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
History Preservation Project
Check the attic and the basement! The Conifer Historical Society is collecting photos, documents, and other memorabilia relevant to Conifer’s history. Current or former residents of the Conifer community are encouraged to donate photographs, documents, or similar memorabilia from Conifer’s recent and historic past.
The Conifer Historical Society will carefully preserve and archive the documents and share them with present and future generations.
Original documents are preferred, but we can also scan your treasured items.
To make an accession appointment, please email [email protected]. During this appointment we will learn as much as we can about each item so they can be properly cataloged into our collection.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
To share the region’s legacy by collecting, preserving and exhibiting historical and cultural materials. To host educational programs and increase the amount of historical artifacts in our collection for our community to enjoy.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Monthly Educational Programs
Annual Exhibits
Expanding Membership and Volunteer Base
Spread the word about our collections program
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We are a 100% volunteer organization, so we are limited to the amount of time our volunteers can provide.
Our community is very supportive of our mission and has continued to support us through donations and advertising to friends and neighbors that we are working hard to expand our collection.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In 2019 we successfully assisted author John Steinle with his work on his latest book "Images of America: Conifer" by compiling photos from our archives and from our membership base.
In 2018 a board member volunteered to head the Collections Committee, working to catalog artifacts in our possession and placing them into our museum software program (PastPerfect).
