Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
This year Second Chance Toys is aiming to get our self-matching toy donation system into 10% more households across the United States. Sustainably decluttering kids toys has never been easier so we hope to expand this service to as many families as possible.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
SCT is partnering with various longtime corporate supporters in order to open more opportunities for families to donate good-as-new toys and other kids items as they declutter their homes in the spring and holiday season.
By opening public collections, matching corporate family donations with recipient organizations, and utilizing pro bono PR support, our corporate supporters are helping us get the SCT name into as many households as possible.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
SCT has long-term partnerships with various media companies, banks, and 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the world's largest junk removal company.
We also hold attention of hundreds of communities across the U.S.A. who have either collected and donated toys through our network or organizations that have received toys to use in their facilities and distribute to families they serve.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
So far in 2023 Second Chance Toys has completed the diversion of over 4,900 toys (from individual donations- households, families) from landfills and rehomed them with organizations in our network serving children in need. We are also in the midst of a large scale collection in collaboration with 23 different 1-800-GOT-JUNK? locations from coast to coast. We expect at least 5,000 more toys from this initiative with delivery coming up this week (5/3/23), as well as an additional estimated 20,000 items during the holiday season.
