What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Civil Legal Aid

MLSA provides free civil legal aid to low income people living throughout the state of Montana. MLSA assists clients with a wide variety of civil legal problems, including Housing issues, Public Benefits issues, Domestic Violence, Native American and Tribal Law, and Tax issues, and prioritizes meeting the legal needs of historically under-served populations. In addition to providing direct representation to qualified clients, MLSA provides community legal education, legal advice, and self-help assistance for the low-income residents of the state. MLSA created MontanaLawHelp.org and AskKarla.org to help people find the legal information, forms, and advice they need to make their own legal decisions and, in some cases, represent themselves in court.
